8th Annual Leadership Summit and General Assembly of Patients, Caregivers & CBOs

The Sickle Cell Consortium (SC3) announces and extends an invitation to the upcoming 8th Annual Leadership Summit & General Assembly of Patients, Caregivers & CBOs. This annual assembly, composed of a diverse range of sickle cell stakeholders, will occur from April 10-14, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta-Buckhead.

The Sickle Cell Consortium is a collaborative network of sickle cell patients, caregivers, and community-based organizations (CBOs) united to ensure that the patient/caregiver voice is at the center of sickle cell research, education, awareness, advocacy, legislation, and policy. The Leadership Summit is the convening meeting tasked with defining and prioritizing the top needs and gaps within the sickle cell community and developing community-based solutions.

This year, we are focused on “Leading the Way” with training and workshops designed to embrace this new era in advocacy, marked by the newly approved FDA gene therapies for sickle cell, the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, and increase understanding of collective self-care and awareness of the devastating consequences of leadership burnout and compassion fatigue.
